Driscoll, Phil
Along with the debut of the Phil Driscoll Music Group comes the release of not just one, but two new recordings from Grammy and Dove artist extraordjnaire, Phil Driscoll. Representing two distinct sides of this versatile man, "Plugged In " and "The Quiet" greet the new millennium with Phil's unmistakable voice and legendary trumpet sound.

Produced by Bill Maxwell (Keith Green, Koinonia, Andrae Crouch, Helen Baylor), they both feature an all-star lineup that reads like a who's who of the music industry - Abraham Laboriel, Alex Acuna, Dean Parks, Bill Mason and Michael Thompson, just to name a few. "Plugged In ", Phil's pop/AC offering, already being hailed as one of Phil's best ever. kicks off with "Forever, Ever Land". The song, one of two co--written by Phil and the legendary Billy Preston (The Beatles' "Let It Be", "White and Abbey Road" albums, not to mention Ray Charles and the Rolling Stones) soars in its allegory of Heaven. The rest of the project follows suit, with a distinctive freedom and sound of the new millennium. Phil's cover of Eric Clapton's "My Fathers 'Eves" is not to be missed - a very fresh take on the classic hit, from a heavenly point of view. The tenth cut, "I Love The Lord" is a deeply moving experience in itself. Phil's vocals are backed up by members of Jack Hayford's Church On The Way Choir, directed by the incomparable Rose Stone (sister to Sly) and a legend herself in the industry.

Listening to "The Quiet", Phil's light jazz instrumental album is a relaxing and soothing musical journey. It is meditative, and even romantic. You can't help but to feel a sense of wholeness and wonder as you 'Plug In' the peaceful sounds. "The Quiet" is destined to reach the vast audience that loves the sounds of Windham Hill, John Tesh and Yanni, but it goes one step beyond...

Phil blasts into the new Millennium, from the first cut on "The Quiet" playing a shofar (ram's horn) trumpet-like but more mysterious and haunting. Both of these two new projects, "Plugged In" and "The Quiet" break new ground into the 21st Century. Representing a new venture for Phil, a new sound, a new approach, and potentially a vast new audience. Their sounds are sounds of the times, from an artist who is distinct, versatile, and continues to be innovative. Listen and enjoy the music!
